the Bathroom Blitz - part 0 - the before



These are a few photos of the pre-blitz bathroom. You can see that it works ok, we had happily replaced the replica wall mounted wooden toilet when we moved in, and we had put down some cheapo linoleum tiles to cover up the old floor. The shower surround was a plastic unit, the tub a bisquit colored cast iron.

The big motivator for the project is two-fold, first to update the fixtures and upgrade the finishes an functionality in the whole room, and second to move the wall between the bathroom and adjacent bedroom back to close to the original location. When the bathroom was remodelled in the 60's, the room was expanded into that adjacent room almost 24"! This created a very tiny closet-like room, and a big bathroom. We wanted to restore the balance.

Anyway - on to the photos. I'll post a floor plan here at some point.
